Head's Welcome

Welcome to All Saints Day School, where children in Preschool through Grade 8 joyfully and spiritually bring our school’s mission to life.

Situated in the Monterey Peninsula’s Carmel Valley, on the doorstep of the Santa Lucia mountains and with the Carmel River flowing through our backyard, we are incredibly fortunate to call this place home

Guided by a caring and deeply committed faculty and staff, All Saints prepares children for lives of learning and service. Throughout our school’s halls and playing fields, an unmistakable sense of joy abounds. This school community is alive with a thirst for knowledge and connection, where all are encouraged to find meaning in their lives, explore their own sense of spirituality, and grow a deeper understanding of the world beyond our walls.

Through a widely acclaimed, rigorous academic program, our enriched curriculum purposefully educates and nurtures the whole child, challenging our students to explore and ask questions, and rewarding them not only for subject mastery but also for intellectual risk-taking. They are scholars, thespians, athletes, art historians, stewards of the environment, inquisitive problem-solvers, and children of remarkable character.

With a united, one-school mindset, we are deliberate in our intent to foster a diverse, equitable, and inclusive learning environment. This allows us to celebrate the power of our unique stories, work collaboratively to solve complex problems, build empathy, and thrive in a climate rooted in kindness and respect.

Across the Peninsula, it is common to hear glowing accounts of an “All Saints kid” — one who is creative, compassionate, connected to the right things, and ultimately, capable of taking on whatever comes next. An “All Saints kid” is described as entering high school fully comfortable in his or her own skin. As parents and educators, we should ask ourselves: Is there anything more important than that?

At All Saints Day School, everybody is somebody. We invite you to visit us and experience our vibrant and welcoming community first hand.

Gratefully,

Why All Saints?

You realize that All Saints Day School truly is a special place!

You will notice it in the warm welcome that every visitor receives.

You will see it in how the students behave - with confidence, respect, and joy.

You will observe how dedicated teachers inspire students to appreciate their individual gifts and challenge them to reach for the stars.

You will know that All Saints Day School values each student and that everyone in this small and caring school community is important.

The Value of the Early Years!

The first years of a child’s schooling lay the foundation for lifelong learning and success.

Not only are children developing the cognitive, social, emotional, and academic skills that set the stage for future years, but they are developing important attitudes towards school, themselves, and those around them.

All Saints is the only independent school in the Monterey/Salinas region that focuses solely on educating students in Preschool through eighth grade and has been doing so, with a reputation for excellence, for 60 years — since 1961.
  • All resources are concentrated on providing the area’s premier elementary and middle school program.
  • An emphasis on character development and high personal standards means that positive patterns of learning and behavior are established early, setting the stage for later years.
  • Children are inspired to discover their talents and the world around them in a safe and supportive environment, fueling a lifetime desire to learn.
  • Consistently applied high expectations for academic achievement and behavior inspire students to be capable, respectful, joyful, and confident about their future.
  • All Saints graduates are extremely well prepared for secondary school. By assessing a student’s needs, interests, and strengths during the eighth grade year, students are not just prepared for a specific high school but for ANY high school.

Meet our Head of School

Scott Fujita has been an integral part of All Saints for the past nine years, first as a parent, then Board member, and most recently as part of the faculty. After the retirement of longtime All Saints Athletic Director, Thad Sigourney, Scott Fujita stepped in to fill the role for the past year. He established All Saints' first cross-country team, as well as a track & field team, and re-established the flag football team, which finished their season undefeated. He holds a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science with a minor in Business Administration, and a Master of Arts in Education from UC Berkeley, where he graduated with honors.
Scott spent 11 years as an NFL Linebacker with the Kansas City Chiefs, Dallas Cowboys, New Orleans Saints, and Cleveland Browns. While with the Saints, the team won Super Bowl XLIV against the Indianapolis Colts with Scott as the captain of the Defensive Unit.

After serving for four years on the NFL Players Association’s Board of Representatives, Scott was selected as a Vice President on the Executive Committee of the players’ union, where he served an additional four years.

Scott was one of the founding members of Team Gleason, a New Orleans based nonprofit inspired by his friend and former teammate, Steve Gleason, who is living with ALS. He was a Producer and the Director of Development on the feature-length, award-winning documentary film, GLEASON, which premiered at the 2016 Sundance Film Festival and appeared in theaters across the country in the summer of 2016. Scott also serves on the Board of Gleason Life Skills Sports Clinics, where he co-directs and helps design curriculum for its summer camp programs in New Orleans, LA.
