All Saints' Student wins Essay Competition

Cailin Templeman '18 was awarded first place for her essay about National Grandparents Day.
All Saints' is proud to announce that Cailin Templeman '18 won the 2016 essay contest about National Grandparents Day, sponsored by Mission Mortuary. Tristan Pfleger '19 won Honorable Mention for his essay. Last year, Lauren Rice '16 won first place for her essay about Memorial Day.

Becky Rheim '84, the 7th and 8th grade language arts teacher could not be prouder of the achievements of her students. "It is always fabulous when our students' hard work gets rewarded. After reading Cailin's paper, I knew that her gift for writing would be acknowledged because of her research and thoughtful approach to this assignment. Our rigorous Middle School language arts program emphasizes both formal and creative writing techniques and it is a tribute to our curriculum that our students are being recognized in the wider community."

The first place also comes with a $500 award.
Mission Mortuary sponsors this essay contest with a new theme at the beginning of each school year. The contest is open to middle and high school students in Monterey County.
