Great showing for our 8th graders at 2023 Monterey County Science & Engineering Fair!

Congratulations to all our 8th graders who competed at the Monterey County Science & Engineering Fair. Each year, students are challenged to go beyond classroom studies to do independent project-based research working independently or in teams to address questions in a wide variety of scientific fields.

After the initial virtual qualification round, every single project of the Class of 2023 was invited to present their projects in person in the finalists round!

Christian Brown placed first in the Microbiology division with his project To Clean or Not To Clean? What surfaces at our school have the most bacteria? Is there resistant bacteria? What is the bacteria resistant to? and William Keszler and Donilo Shivers were invited to present their project Pesky Pesticides - Are herbicides detectable in the Carmel River? in the Environmental Science / Toxicology division at the California State Science Fair.
