Five new Members for the Team!

All Saints' is delighted to welcome five new faculty members to its wonderful roster of teachers!
All Saints’ Day School faculty & staff returned to work and we are delighted to welcome five new members to support our most wonderful faculty in the upper and lower grades!
 
Ms. Batya Fields (middle) is joining us as Upper Grades Teacher of Science. She is the holder of a BA in Sociology from the University of California, Irvine, and a MA in Environmental Education from New York University. Batya brings a wealth of professional experience to her new position that will serve our students and school well. Her work with middle school students in the Carmel and Monterey Unified School Districts has involved the traditional classroom setting, coaching, and outdoor environmental education. She has also worked at the Brooklyn Grange Rooftop Farm, where she assisted with daily farm educational activities and duties, as well as supporting activities and projects for local partnerships. Batya has also worked in Santa Ana and Compton, California in support of students from underserved areas to improve learning, social, and literacy skills.
 
Ms. Annalisa Fiorenza (second from left) joins us from Bayview Academy Charter School in Monterey and will serve as our new Second Grade teacher. She is the holder of a BA from California State University, Hayward, and brings 14 years of educational experience to All Saints'. Among Annalisa's many achievements are the following: Implemented STEAM/STEM components to Grade 2; Developed an after school Coding Club for Grades 2-4; Led teacher training on Garden-Based Curriculum and Classroom; Curriculum Review Committee for school accreditation; GATE (Gifted and Talented Education) instructor within the general classroom setting; Dyslexia tutor. In addition, Annalisa spent time on an educational farm in Padova, Italy, where she introduced children to organic gardening and animal care as she guided students to experience connections between the social, ecological, and economic importance of agriculture in their lives. 
 
Ms. Allyson Schut (right) is joining our Early Childhood Program as a part-time teacher and will work closely with Mrs. Vanoli, Mrs. Cronin, and Mr. Hale to further strengthen our outstanding Early Childhood program. Allyson holds a BS in Linguistics of the University of California, Los Angeles and a M.Ed in Elementary Education from Vanderbilt University. As well as working with kindergarten through fourth grade, Allyson has experience as a technology integration specialist. She has presented at workshops and conferences on successful technology integration and is a recipient of a Golden Bell Award for "investing extra energy and time to make a demonstrated difference for students." She is an All Saints’ graduate (Class of 1985) and her mother, Donna, is a much beloved former 1st Grade teacher at our school.
 
Mrs. Gelavij Myrold (second from the rights) is joining us as our new 4th Grade Teacher. She is the holder of a BS in Elementary Education (Concentration: Mathematics) from St. Cloud State University, St. Cloud, Minnesota. Gelavij has several years of teaching experience in diverse and dynamic public and independent elementary school settings. She joins us from Cypress Springs Elementary School in Ruston, Louisiana, where she has taught 4th Grade Math and Science. Gelavij has also taught Preschool, 2nd and 5th grades, and has engaged in extensive professional development throughout her career. She has also worked with families to provide support in the areas of health & nutrition education, parenting skills, psychosocial, and mental health. 
 
Mr. Randy Postadan (left) has been appointed as Teacher of Physical Education and Director of Athletics. Randy earned a BS degree in Kinesiology (with an emphasis in Physical Education) from San Francisco State University and a a M.Ed in Leadership in Educational Organization from American Intercontinental University. The focus of Randy's undergraduate education was sports psychology and developing teaching strategies for PE instruction related to sports leadership, teamwork, communication, and collaboration. An avid athlete, Randy played intramural basketball and volleyball in college, and was a member of the SFSU Men's Basketball practice team. He has taught Elementary (4th Grade) and High School (Health, Literature, Math) levels and joins us from Chartwell School.
 
These five teachers are wonderful additions to our strong faculty team, bringing experiences and skills - professional and personal - that will further strengthen the learning experience for our students.
