Outreach at All Saints'
Community service is an essential part of All Saints' Day School educational program. Our Outreach program has developed out of the school's mission statement, "...a nurturing environment of spiritual growth and service to others." All Saints'Day School's Outreach program achieves community service by involving students at every age in significant service projects appropriate to each grade level. In addition, there are many opportunities to participate in a wealth of school-wide projects.
At All Saints' Day School, we define community service for our students as students giving their efforts, willingly and free of charge, to an individual or organization that benefits from their help and/or improves the quality of life for their community. Community service is not doing one's chore, which is part of being a family, nor is it helping a business. Community service means helping those without the resources to help themselves.
At All Saints' Day School, our goal is to help the children grow from an understanding of Outreach as charity and duty to an understanding of Outreach as social justice and a life long commitment to service. Our Outreach projects acquaint students with the joy of serving others and help them realize there are many people in their community and around the world, including other children, whom they do not know personally but who still need their help. All Saints' commitment to community service is embodied within each Outreach project and is the foundation upon which each student's lifelong commitment to service is built.
